DJ Khaled was honored with the 2,719 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the independent record store Amoeba Music on Monday.

As he received the prestigious honor, the 46-year-old Grammy winner was beaming as his frequent collaborators Jay-Z, Puff Daddy, and Fat Joe supported him in the audience.

For the special occasion, the All I Do Is Win hitmaker sported an orange suit and matching sneakers to the ceremony.

The Grammy Award winner, who has worked with musicians like Beyonce and Justin Bieber to Lil Wayne, has released 10 of his albums through his record label, We the Best Music Group since 2008.

The Keys author has also appeared in films like Spies in Disguise (2019) and Bad Boys for Life (2020).

During his acceptance speech, he got emotional as he thanked his fans, loved ones and longtime supporters.

‘I wanna make one thing super clear, this star I want it to represent the light that shines on everybody,’ he said.

Khaled continued: ‘God put me on this earth to be a light. I want everybody to take this starlight and know that it’s forever, it’s for all of us. It’s for hip-hop. We are just getting started, this is just the beginning.’

After posing for solo shots with his star, he was joined by his five-year-old son Asahd Tuck, who wore a colorful sweat suit.

Last year, he opened up about how ‘incredible’ it feels to be one of the most publicly visible Palestinian Americans in an interview with GQ Hype.

The performer was born in New Orleans to Palestinian parents who immigrated to the United States, with his mother and father often playing Arabic music in the house as he was growing up.

He said: ‘It’s incredible, because, you know, that’s what I represent: love, positivity, family, peace, happiness, prosperity, progress. I mean, just to be able to say that I’m American Palestinian, that’s so beautiful.’

The record producer also said he has a high standard when it comes to the music he makes, not wanting to ‘waste’ his fans’ time.

He said: ‘Look, any feature can look good on paper,’ he said of his approach to making hits. But I’m about making a great song.

‘So, if I get a chance to work with a great artist, I don’t want to waste their time. And I don’t want to waste my time. And I for sure don’t want to waste my fans’ time. So the question with me is that I hit home runs. I won’t do it no other way, period.’

On his clothing collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, he said: ‘God forbid there was a dress code… because you fulfilled it. The dress code [for this collection] is ‘flyness’ – you prepared no matter what.

‘Confidence is key. This means that you have to know when you step in, not only are you ready to be great and come out great, [but] you have to spread this energy.’

Patty, DJ Khaled’s executive assistant of the last 15 years joined the interview and discussed whether he really is the same guy that we see on videos and social media.
